Rejection is more than an emotion. It is a spirit rooted in the spirit of fear and amplified by the spirit of abandonment. Everyone at some point in life has encountered this spirit, whether they were the ones being rejected or the one rejecting or abandoning someone else. Cain is one of our first examples of the operations of this spirit.
According to Genesis 4:5 NLT, when Cain and his offering were not accepted, he was angry and felt dejected (rejected). What followed the rejection, comparison to his brother, and anger was malice and murder. The spirit of rejection doesn’t manifest alone; it’s a root that, if not dealt with, will grow branches that lead to stealing, killing, and destroying destinies and lives, all while the rejected person turned murderer justifies their actions because of self-pity. This is why rejection is one of the enemy’s trusted weapons.
This spirit destroys God’s people because of a lack of knowledge—knowledge that leads to wisdom, truth applied for deliverance.
